New year festival

               The New year festival is celebrated by all Sinnhalese and Tamil people in Sri Lanka.The traditional New year celebration fall on between 12to 14 April.It is held to celebrate the Sun God’s passage from Pisces to Aries. It is also a harvest thanksgiving and is mainly celebrated by the villagers in true traditional style. It is a colourful and extravagant festival and this season is usually a holiday for the whole country.
